Using #authres in an Aquisition-Driven Instruction Classroom

Last week was a DREAM! From being awarded Ohio Beginner Teacher of the Year for the OFLA organization to having dinner with some of the most incredible people from Kansas, #langhcat, and curriculum companies….I really needed someone to pinch me at times! CSCTFL is hands down the best regional conference you can go to.

Bright and early Friday morning, I presented on how to use authentic resources in an acquisition driven instruction classroom and it went better than I could have ever imagined.

When I chose to present on this almost a year ago, I made it my goal to be better about including more #authres (authentic resources) into my own lesson plans. Something that has always bothered me in the CI/ADI world is that there is a narrative out there that says that #authres are not beneficial to our students because they are not comprehensible. I 100% refute that statement, hence my desire to share and present why they are important.

If you are interested in learning more about my #authres presentation, you are free to reference my slides and materials from the conference below. I am working with some awesome people right now to bring some on-demand PD sessions to life and this is definitely one that I want to make accessible to everyone! If you are wanting to know more about this relatively soon, let’s discuss together how we can make that happen. Simply send me an email and I will be happy to work with you! Be sure to subscribe to my emails to get all the updates about future PD sessions happening soon.

Don’t forget to find my OFLA resources from July on this blog post! I can’t wait to meet more of you at future conferences.
